Apple has launched their second version of iPad, namely Apple iPad 2. It is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple Inc. It has been recently launched by Steve jobs, CEO at Apple, at a launch event held in San Francisco on March 2, 2011. It is scheduled to release on March 25 to the UK markets. The device falls in the category of smartphones and laptops. It is equipped with brand new Apple A5 chipset, Dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor and runs on iOS 4 operating system. It is the magical device for audio video media like books, movies, watching movies, listening music, playing games and much more. It has got an entirely new design that is much thinner and lighter that its predecessor handset. It weighs 607 grams measuring dimensions of 241.2 x 185.7 x 8.8 mm. It flaunts with a super wide screen of size 9.7 inches LED backlit IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen with a support for 16M colors. It comes with fingerprint,scratch resistant and oleophobic surface. Various sensor capabilities include accelerometer sensor, multi-touch input method and three-axis gyro sensor.
Apple iPad 2 boasts an 0.7MP camera with a resolution of 960 x 720 pixels. It has also got a front facing VGA camera for FaceTime and Photo Booth. FaceTime application is an video calling app with which users can chat with friends and relatives who has also have an iPad, or any other Apple product like a Mac, iPhone 4. While PhotoShoot is a very easy and straightforward app. It is used to create silly photos, can apply messy effects and that kind of thing. It is a kind of fun application.
Apple has also announced the availability of some new accessories along with the tablet. HDMI output adaptor is provided with the handset to mirror anything on to the large screens. It can output to 1080p. One of the amazing and stylish accessory that Apple has announced is Smart Covers. The all new iPad 2 Smart Covers provide protection for the iPad screen. It has a super thin case that wraps around the device. It is aligned with the magnets that is an iPad sleeps automatically when the cover is closed and it wakes up when the cover is open again. These smart covers are not provided with the tablet, however these are available at a reasonable price in the market.
As per its pricing is concerned, it remains almost same as the first iPad. It will be available in the UK from 25th March and will come in 2 colors – White and Silver.
